Until you have tasted organically raised, homegrown and vine ripened heirlooms you'll never know what you're missing. Perhaps you may not even like to eat tomatoes because the ones in the markets taste so bad. Or it’s possible you used to grow your own tomatoes and vaguely remember how great they taste.
It is so disappointing what now is being sold as "heirloom" tomatoes. All the taste has been bred out of market tomatoes in exchange for even skin, hard texture, and long shelf life. Picked green, they are never going to develop great flavor. Tasteless, odorless, and poor texture. They taste similar to wet Styrofoam.
The tomatoes and vegetables I grow have been chosen for their outstanding taste and aroma. Particularly the large dark colored tomato variety. This particular dark one is mild and sweet, has a fantastic fragrance and long lingering taste and mouthfeel. But the skin cracks easily, and great care must be taken in handling. Check out that gorgeous red color inside when you slice them open.
They are all raised either from heirloom or are from chosen hybrid seed stock. Only organic methods are used to raise these plants. They are vine ripened and picked hours before being offered for sale.
There are six different varieties of tomatoes available now.... SEE PHOTOS for specific varieties offered!
